Some of my earliest memories are of colours, growing up next to the sea and sky of the Mediterranean. There was the pale blue of the morning; the white-hot sand at midday, and the indigo sea at dusk. Colours and textures are a part of my language, and I have long been drawn to how they interact with each other, their origins and meanings, and the different ways they influence us.
After studying in Florence, I moved first to London, where I specialised in textile design, and then to Berlin. There I drew inspiration from the creative energy of the German capital, working across the fields of fashion design, styling, and sustainable practices.
In 2020 I decided to start my own label, the culmination of those years of research and experiences. From the outset, MÁGATA’s designs were influenced by my passion for nature, culture, and travelling, as well as stemming from a real desire to change how we consume.
It is my way to ground myself in a more sustainable and responsible approach to fashion.
Using the Mediterranean as a starting point, I create pieces that combine natural shades with simple, elegant shapes. They are finished with carefully considered details, allowing them to be used whatever the season, whatever the weather. Most importantly, they are produced locally and in small batches, using high-quality, organic fabrics, and designed with longevity in mind.
